WASHINGTON, D.C. - Hood dropped its season opener to Catholic, 7-0.

The Cardinals' Lindsay Aleman had three goals in the contest for the defending Landmark Conference Champions. 

The Blazers trailed 3-0 at the half before Catholic put the game away with four second half markers.

Alexis Andrukat (Smithsburg, Md. / Smithsburg) started in goal and made eight saves in just over 45 minutes of action. Leah Norris (Bryans Road, Md. / Lackey) stopped nine shots in relief. 

Lexi Halperin played the first 61 minutes for Catholic, before giving way to Amy-Lynn Friel, who stopped one shot over the remainder of the contest.

The Blazers will look to get into the win column at Cedar Crest on September 5.
