GETTYSBURG, Pa. - The Hood College volleyball team split a tri-match at Gettysburg, defeating Ursinus in three sets before falling to the host Bullets.

Set scores against the Bears were 25-19, 25-21, 25-13. Against Gettysburg, scores were 25-19, 25-21, 25-18.

Kari Betson (Frederick, Md. / Frederick) finished the day with 22 total kills and 20 digs. Payton Belella (Smithsburg, Md. / Smithsburg) dished out 60 assists.

HOOD 3, URSINUS 0

Hood hit .258, while Ursinus mustered just .010 in the Blazers' three-set victory.

Belella had 31 assists. Betson had nine kills and 10 digs. Caroline Kinna (Frederick, Md. / Walkersville) tied Betson for the team-high with nine kills and added three blocks. Elena Young (Hagerstown, Md. / South Hagerstown) paced the squad with four blocks and netted seven kills. Brenna Elizondo (Littleton, Colo. / Heritage) finished with 13 digs.

After two close sets, the Blazers jumped ahead 7-2 in the third set and never looked back to finish the match.

GETTYSBURG 3, HOOD 0

Laura Bergin's 16 kills and 10 digs proved too much to overcome in Hood's three-set defeat.

Betson did her best to match Bergin all match, finishing with 13 kills and 11 digs. Belella added 29 assists and nine digs. Kathryn Jones (Newfane, N.Y. / Newfane) tallied 11 digs.

Hood led 18-15 after a kill by Betson in the second set, but a kill by Stephanie Blair started a 10-3 run to close the set.

Blair finished with eight kills, 30 assists and 11 digs.

Hood hosts Albright on September 23.
