FREDERICK, Md. - Freshman Jayden Barrick (Newport, Pa. / Newport) had a goal and a defensive save, but Hood College fell to Neumann University 5-1 in non-conference play.

Hailey Poisal (Westminster, Md./ Westminster) had 11 saves for the Blazers.

After the Knights took a 3-0 lead in the first half, including two goals by Becky Guinto, the Blazers got onto the scoreboard. Barrick took a pass from Alexis Briscoe (Columbia, Md. / Long Reach) and shot to the left side of the cage for her first collegiate goal.

Neumann added a two more goals in the second half to put the game out of reach.

Guinto had three goals for the Knights. Stephanie Brinker and Alexa Mcintyre each added a goal. Chelsea Kulesza tallied three assists for the Knights, Danni Hall also chipped in with an assist. Becca Wallace started in goal for Neumann and played the first 57 minutes, recording two saves. Kylee Rutty played the final 13 minutes in goal.

Hood hosts Widener in conference play September 26. Game is slated to start at 11 a.m. at Thomas Athletic Field.
