Box Score WILKES-BARRE, Pa. - The Hood College men's soccer team gave up the lead late, losing in non-conference action at King's 1-0.
Joe Centeno (Mount Airy, Md./ Linganore) started in goal for the Blazers, and recorded three saves. Hood's best scoring chances came early against the Monarchs, but Romo Monarrez (Guadalajara, Mexico/ West Nottingham Academy (Md.) and Kyle Bulgarelli (York, Pa./ York Suburban) were turned away by Owen Geedey.
King's found the scoreboard midway through the second half when Tyler Harlan found Chris Galeano, who shot from 18 yards out, for the first goal of the game in the 68th minute.
Hood's Drew Demich (Jefferson, Md. / Brunswick) was awarded with a penalty kick in the 84th minute, but Geedey stepped up and made the final of his three saves on the afternoon.
The loss snapped Hood's five-game win streak. Demich had a school record tying six-match goal scoring streak stopped.
Hood looks to bounce back Wednesday, September 30 when they travel to Moravian College. Game is slated to begin at 4 p.m.
