FREDERICK, Md. - The Hood College field hockey team dropped a non-conference contest to visiting Bethany (W.Va.) on Senior Day at Thomas Athletic Field, 6-0.

Before the contest, the Blazers honored seniors Alysa Billeter (Damascus, Md. / Damascus), Alexis Briscoe (Columbia, Md. / Long Reach), April Ganz (Germantown, Md. / Seneca Valley) and Libby Veres (Mount Airy, Md. / Linganore) for their contributions to the program.

TJ Solomon assisted on one of Bethany's two first half goals before scoring twice in the second half. Courtney Gill finished with a goal and two assists.

Hood's defense held strong for the first 30 minutes before goals by Amanda Henson and Selena Viera in the closing minutes before halftime.

In addition to goals by Solomon and Gill in the second half, Morgan Turner also scored.

Hailey Poisal (Westminster, Md. / Westminster) made four saves for Hood. 

The Blazers host Wilson on September 29.
