GRANTHAM, Pa. - Hood College defeated Lebanon Valley 141-103, but fell to Misericordia 130-103 in a meet that also featured the hosts from Messiah.
Scores were not tallied for teams that had already competed against one another this season. No score was kept for Hood vs. Messiah or Misericordia vs. LVC.
Cameron Rogers (Severn, Md. / Archbishop Spalding) won the 100-yard freestyle and claimed second in the 200 free. Chris Gardner (Smyrna, Del. / Cab Calloway School of the Arts) was victorious in the 100 backstroke and second in the 200 back.
Rogers, a junior, opened the day with a second place finish in the 200 free with a time of 1:52.21. He later claimed a win by nearly 11 seconds in the 500 with a time of 4:55.78.
Gardner started his day with the winning time of 55.17 in the 100 back. Later, in the 200 back, the junior swam a 2:01.85 to place second.
BJ Daisey (Lewes, Del. / Sussex Tech) was second in the 100 breaststroke with a 1:02.61.
Ryan Franklin (Frederick, Md. / Homeschool) was second in the 200 breast in 2:23.95, with Daisey third in 2:24.12. Franklin took third in the 200 free in 1:52.39, less than a second behind Rogers' second place time. Franklin later placed third in the 50 free with his time of 23.11.
Ernesto Evans (Upper Marlboro, Md. / Largo) swam a 51.21 in the 100 free to finish third.
Hood, 9-3 overall and 7-3 against Middle Atlantic Conference foes, is idle until traveling to the MAC Championships in York, Pennsylvania on February 11-14.
