FREDERICK, Md. - The Hood College women's basketball team dropped a 59-33 final to No. 19 Albright in Middle Atlantic Conference Commonwealth play on the Blazers' Senior Day.

Before the game, Hood honored seniors Alexis Andrukat (Smithsburg, Md. / Smithsburg), Alexis Briscoe (Columbia, Md. / Long Reach), Arianna Delerme (Harrisburg, Pa. / Susquehanna Twp.) and Verkia Smith (Waldorf, Md. / North Point).

Shannon O'Meara (Monroe, Conn. / St. Joseph) led the Blazers with eight points off the bench in eight minutes of play. She sank 2-of-6 3-point field goals and a pair of free throws. Smith led Hood with eight rebounds, while Briscoe added three assists and three steals. 

Kelecia Harris led the Lions with 12 points on 6-of-8 shooting. Jane Joyce grabbed 10 rebounds. Nina Mazzarelli scored 10 points and Alysha Lofton added five steals. 

A 3-pointer by Taylor McGaughey (New Market, Md. / Oakdale) pulled Hood within 10-9 with under two minutes left in the first period. The Lions, however, went on a 22-3 run that extended into the second half to put the game out of reach.

Hood has a quick turnaround with a game against Arcadia at BB&T Arena on Monday, February 1 at 6 p.m.
