ST.DAVIDS, Pa. – The Hood College women's basketball team finished their 2025-26 campaign on Saturday afternoon against the Eagles of Eastern University, falling in the contest 76-36.

How it Happened
Early into the contest, the Blazer held an early advantage after two made free throws by
Maya Gordon (Towson, Md./Loch Raven).
Eastern went on a run midway through the first quarter, but Hood didn't back down after a tip-in layup made by
Amya Pulley (Reistertown, Md./Western Tech) to make the score 7-4, in favor of the Eagles.
The Eagles were leading 15 to 8, but Hood was within striking distance to end the first quarter.
A Serenity Ritchie (Martinsburg, W.V./Martinsburg) made three early into the second quarter would cut the lead to 15-11, but Eastern quickly responded with a bucket of their own and got the lead back up to seven to make the score 18 to11.
Headed into the break, Eastern went on a run to end the second quarter and extended their lead 29 to 13.
Despite the deficit the Blazers continued to fight to start the second half, as
Amya Pulley (Reistertown, Md./Western Tech) tried to be a spark plug for Hood with an early made layup in the third quarter.
The Eagles earned a quick bucket after the Pulley shot, but
Kourtney Johnson (Silver Spring, Md./Paint Branch) responded quickly after, keeping Hood's hopes alive to end the season with a win.
Midway through the third quarter, Eastern caught fire and Hood's effort to stay in the game became more difficulty as the Eagles would end the third up 52 to 22 on Hood.
Shades of the third quarter sprinkled into the fourth as Eastern stayed hot.
The Blazers efforts would come up short to end the season, as the Eagles went on to win the game and handed Hood another loss to end the year.

Jeriyah Johnson led the Eagles with 18 points.
Damiyae Moyet had a double-double with 16 points and 12 boards.

Hood shot 27.1% from the field, while Eastern shot 45.9%.
