TOWSON, Md. - The Hood College men's swim team competed in a quad meet at Goucher that featured Stevenson and Frostburg State.
How it Happened
- Hood won seven of the meet's 11 events.
- Cameron Rogers was responsible for three individual victories. He won the 1,000-yard freestyle in 10:16.40, the 200 free in 1:53.02 and the 500 free in 4:59.14. The senior extended his win streak in dual, tri or quad meets to 20 straight in the 500 and 18 in a row in the 1,000. The streak dates all the way back to midway through his freshman season.
- Ernesto Evans had a pair of victories on the day. He won the 50 free in 22.59 and the 100 free in 50.90.
- In the 100-yard backstroke, Chris Gardner was the winner in 56.55. He added a third place finish in the 200 individual medley in 2:08.81.
- Hood's other win came in the day's first event, the 200 medley relay. The quartet of Gardner, BJ Daisey, Matt Ball and Evans combined for a 1:42.69.
- Max Reidel was second to Rogers in both of the distance freestyle events. He swam a 10:43.92 in the 1,000 and a 5:14.54 in the 500.
- Daisey was the runner up in the 100 butterfly with a time of 56.63 and the 100 breastroke in 1:02.91.
- The 200 free relay of Lucas Mestas-Nunez, Zack Miller, Michael Cheripka and Gabriel Hernandez-Paese took second place in 1:37.80.
- Ball was third the 200 free with a time of 1:56.14, while Mestas-Nunez added a third place finish in the 50 free in 23.74.
