FREDERICK, Md. - The Hood College women's volleyball team split a tri-match with visiting Catholic and City College of New York. 

Set Scores

• Catholic won 25-10, 25-20, 25-19. 
• Hood won 25-4, 25-3, 25-13. 

Inside the Box Scores

• For the day, Elena Zinaich hit .422 with 21 kills against just four errors in 45 attacks. She also had five aces and two blocks, all against Catholic. 
• Payton Belella dished out 61 total assists. 
• Kari Betson ended the afternoon with 17 kills and 19 digs. 
• Kelsey Ritner had 22 total digs, including 14 against CCNY. 
• Caroline Kinna served six aces, all against CCNY, while Hutchinson added five against the Beavers. 

How it Happened Against Catholic

• With the first set tied at 6-6, the Cardinals went on a 19-4 run to take command of the set. 
• Hood had its chances in the next two sets, with Catholic inching away to capture the win. An ace by Zinaich made it 19-19 in the second set, but the Cardinals closed with a 5-1 run. Another Zinaich ace made it 13-12 in the third set, but Catholic took a 21-14 lead.

How it Happened Against CCNY

• Hood limited the Beavers to a -.082 hitting percentage in the match. 
• In addition to holding the CCNY attacking game in check, the Blazers tallied 16 service aces in the contest. 
• Irishvarsha Lyyadurai and Veralucia Quispe each had eight digs for the Beavers.

• Hood is 10-21 on the year.
• Catholic improved to 26-10, while CCNY dropped to 7-21.
