FREDERICK, Md. - The Hood College baseball team dropped a 12-0 final to visiting Gettysburg in non-conference play.

Nat Puryear (Frederick, Md. / Tuscarora) and Wayne Baldwin (Mount Airy, Md. / Chapelgate Christian Academy) had two hits apiece in the loss. Michael Hernandez (Lancaster, Pa. / Hempfield) threw 1.1 scoreless innings of relief. Jackson Slotterback (Arnold, Md. / St. Mary's) was unscored upon in one inning of work.

Two errors and a pair of infield hits helped the Bullets take a 3-0 lead in the third inning. Gettysburg would score in each of the next three innings, as well. A four-run sixth powered by a two-run double by Henry Klimowicz extended the lead to 10-0. Klimowicz added an RBI double as part of a two-run eighth to cap the scoring.

Andy Kelley had four hits for the Bullets, while Klimowicz, Luke Lawrence and Chuck Probst had three hits apiece. Klimowicz drove in three.

Rich Power and Eric Brown combined on the shutout. Power scattered five hits and three walks in six innings to earn the win. Brown limited the Blazers to two hits in three innings to notch the save.

Hood hosts Central Penn on Saturday, March 5.
