FREDERICK,Md. – Hood Athletics celebrated its annual red carpet award show with a handful of new awards and a reimagined version of the event. With the work of SAAC, the show included team superlatives, MVPs, a Not Top 10 and more.
Award Winners:
Women's Athletics Athlete of the Year - Miller Beveridge 82' was a scholar athlete, graduating magna cum laude while participating in field hockey, basketball and lacrosse on campus. Miller Beveridge is a pure representation of Blazer Athletics with her commitment to sport, leadership and the pursuit her studies and the betterment of society post grad
. The student-athlete with most impact performance and character during the 2025-26 season will receive this award.
Aylene Noy (Frederick, Md./Tuscarora) - XC/T&F
Men's Athletics Athlete of the Year – Josh Gall '13 the baseball program's recruit and cemented himself as a D3Baseball All-American. Gall passed away in March of 2024 from a courageous battle with melanoma and the combination of competitiveness, energy, and character that his life showed is what this award should represent. The student-athlete with most impact performance and character during the 2025-26 season will receive this award. This award was presented by Josh Gall's family and former Hood baseball coach and current AD at Alvernia University, Cory Beddick.
Jevon Yarbrough (Hagerstown, Md./Williamsport) - Basketball
Rookie of the Year - This award is given to a male and female athlete who had a standout first year

Coaching Staff of the Year - The Coaching Staff includes: Head coach, GAs, Assistant coaches, Volunteer coaches, and other staff on/off campus that make the Coaching Staff exemplary

Golden Hoodie Award - This award can be given to an outstanding individual staff member who works/helps with the athletics department

Best Partner Team - This award is given to the ball runners, ticket takers, moppers, game preparation, etc. teams that partner with other teams to help during the season

Blazer Heart - A true representation of Hood College athletics; puts their heart into participation and attending athletic events, presents good sportsmanship, hypes up cheering section and makes a positive impact on the game/event:

Kara Heidlauf (Mount Joy, Pa./Donegal High School) - Softball
Comeback Player of the Year - This award is given to an athlete who had a great comeback season after an injury or set back

Iron Blazer -This award is given to an athlete who is consistently in the gym and always doing the extra work in the weight room. The lifting coaches will each be given a vote for this award:
