Box Score 2 WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. - The Hood College softball team dropped a pair of Middle Atlantic Conference Commonwealth contests at Lycoming, 3-2 and 5-2.
Ashley Fourcade (Rockville, Md. / Richard Montgomery) hit her third home run of the year in the second game. She also doubled in the game and scored both Hood runs.
GAME ONE: LYCOMING 3, HOOD 2
Hood took the lead in the top of the fourth, but the Warriors came back for the win.
Trailing 1-0, Shelby Alcorn (Hummelstown, Pa. / Lower Dauphin) drew a bases loaded walk to tie the game and a wild pitch in the inning allowed Kristy Erfurdt (Thurmont, Md. / Catoctin) to score.
Lycoming tied the game in the bottom of the inning and an RBI single in the fifth by Heather Secord gave the Warriors a 3-2 lead.
Erfurdt doubled and walked and Alcorn reached base twice, as well. Kayli Paugh (Elkridge, Md. / Howard) threw a complete game, but took the loss.
Morgan Kunes homered and had three hits for Lycoming. Rachael Shady struck out six in a complete game win.
GAME TWO: LYCOMING 5, HOOD 2
The Warriors hit three homers to pick up the sweep.
Elisa Novak, Kunes and Ashley Burger all went deep in the game.
In addition to Fourcade's 2-for-2 at the plate, Paugh doubled and walked.
Fourcade led off the second with a home run to tie the game at 1-1. After Novak's homer broke the tie, Hood tied it again in the fourth when Fourcade scored on an error. Burger hit a solo shot in the bottom of the fourth to give Lycoming the lead for good.
Sophia Leaman (Mount Joy, Pa. / Donegal) took the complete game loss. She struck out six.
Kristi Weaver picked up the win and Shady got the save.
Hood hosts Lebanon Valley on Apr. 30.
