Box Score FREDERICK, Md. - Hood College's Josh Gall (Odenton, Md. / Arundel) homered and Brooks Warrenfeltz (Middletown, Md. / Middletown) had three hits, but Lebanon Valley escaped with a 6-2 win in Middle Atlantic Conference Commonwealth action.
Before the game, the Blazers honored their first seniors, Nat Puryear (Frederick, Md. / Tuscarora) and Chris Shriver (Frederick, Md. / Gov. Thomas Johnson) for their contributions over the past two seasons. Puryear had a base hit in the game, while Shriver stole a base.
Gall homered for the second straight game. Warrenfeltz singled three times.
Jake Franke (Lisbon, Md. / Glenelg) took the loss despite a solid outing. He allowed three runs, two earned, in 5 2/3 innings. Franke struck out three and walked one.
The Dutchmen scored twice in the first to take the lead. Mike Puglisi led off the game with a double and scored on a Colin Albright single. Albright scored later in the frame on a passed ball.
Hood got on the board in the fourth, when Gall hit his fourth home run of the season to cut LVC's lead in half. Warrenfeltz tied the game the following inning, with an RBI single that knocked in Cam Esposito (Columbia, N.J. / North Warren Regional).
In the Dutchmen's half of the sixth, Puglisi drove in the winning run with an infield single. A two-run eighth inning put the game out of reach.
Puglisi and Albright had three hits apiece. Michael Houseal struck out seven and did not walk a batter in a complete game victory.
The two teams play again on Saturday, Apr. 30 in a doubleheader at Lebanon Valley.
