FREDERICK, Md. - The Hood College volleyball team fell 3-0 to visiting Lebanon Valley in a Middle Atlantic Conference Commonwealth match.

Set scores were 26-24, 25-18, 25-14. 

Kari Betson had a double-double for the Blazers with 12 kills and 12 digs. Payton Belella dished out 25 assists. Courtney Hutchinson recorded three blocks. Elena Zinaich recorded her 500th career kill in the match, joining Betson as active players to reach the milestone. 

The Dutchmen jumped out to an 11-3 lead in the first set, but the Blazers mounted a comeback. Hood tied the game with an 11-2 surge of its own, tying the score at 13-13 on an ace by Belella. The two teams battled back and forth, with the Blazers earning a set point on a kill by Betson to make it 24-23. Jess Attieh tied the score before back-to-back aces by Morgan Webb gave the Dutchmen the win. 

Lebanon Valley slowly pulled away in the second set for a 2-0 lead. In the third set, the Dutchmen built a 6-1 lead and Hood never pulled within four after that. 

Attieh had 11 kills and five blocks. Greta Weidemoyer came up just a kill and a dig shy of a triple-double and finished with 24 assists. 

Hood travels to McDaniel on September 15 at 7 p.m.
