CHESTER, Pa. - The Hood College field hockey team dropped its Middle Atlantic Conference Commonwealth opener at Widener, 4-0.

• Hailey Poisal made 16 saves for the Blazers. 
• Widener's Kayla Herr had two goals and an assist. 

Game Recap

• Hood's defense held firm into the 26th minute, when Herr took an assist from Sarah Quintus for a 1-0 lead. 
• With less than a minute to play in the first half, Herr assisted on a Kristin Saraceni score as the Blazers trailed 2-0 at halftime. 
• Herr and Katie Cleary each scored in the second half to put the contest out of reach. 

Notes

• Hood dropped to 2-5 overall and 0-1 in the MAC Commonwealth. 
• Widener improved to 4-3 overall and 1-0 in the conference.
