Women's Soccer Tripped Up at Goucher

TOWSON, Md. - Hood College struck first, but Goucher scored a pair of second half goals to send the Blazers home with a 2-1 defeat in non-conference women's soccer action. 

How it Happened

  • In the 42nd minute, Emily Savona drew the goalkeeper out and shot from a tough angle that hit the crossbar. Elien Comhaire was waiting at the far post for the deflection and headed it in for a 1-0 lead. 
  • A goal at the start of the 62nd minute by Christina Yarrish tied the score and, less than 10 minutes later, Syd Benedick cleaned up a rebound for the game-winner.

  • Rachel Knoebel made 10 saves for Hood, which was outshot 21-10 in the match. 
  • Erica Bulzomi made three saves for the Gophers, while Bri Hite and Theresa Antkowiak-Tassone had assists.
