FREDERICK, Md.- The Hood College volleyball team battled through five sets and defeated the Gallaudet Bison 3-2.

Hood won 21-25, 25-20, 23-25, 25-19, 15-11.

• Payton Belella dished out 34 assists and added three service aces.
• Elena Zinaich notched 17 kills along with four service aces.

How it Happened

• Hood dropped the first set 25-21.
• The two teams traded the next three sets sending the match to a fifth set.
• Both teams went point for point bringing the fifth set to a 10-10 tie.
• Two kills by Zinaich put the Blazers ahead for good as they took the set and the match.

• Adele Daniels led both teams with 43 assists and added three service aces..
• Darriyan Thomas contributed 17 kills and four service aces for the Bison.
• Raelyn Fuechtmann tallied four service aces.
• The win marks the first time the Blazers have defeated the Bison in volleyball.
