FRONT ROYAL, Va. - The Hood College baseball team defeated a Christendom team playing the first game since the program was reinstated 14-0. 

Inside the Box Score

• Josh Greenberg went 3 for 4 with a double, two RBIs and two runs scored. 
• Wayne Baldwin, Cam Esposito, Drake Friend, Jordan Patterson and Brooks Warrenfeltz had two hits apiece as the Blazers had 17 hits. 
• Esposito stole home in the third inning. 
• Friend drove in three and Baldwin walked twice. 
• Josh Gall hit his third home run of the year. 
• Dylan Johnson, Brad Sawyer, Chris Devine and Des Grimes combined on a one-hit shutout. Johnson was credited with the victory, striking out three and allowing one hit in three innings. Sawyer struck out three in two innings and Devine fanned a pair. 

How it Happened

• Hood took a 4-0 lead in the top of the first, thanks to RBI singles by Greenberg, Baldwin and Friend. 
• Gall stretched the lead to 5-0 with a solo home run in the third. 
• The Blazers broke the game open with an eight-run sixth. Warrenfeltz scored the first run on a RBI double by Greenberg. Esposito, who walked earlier in the inning, stole home for a six-run lead. Quinn Fulton, Friend, Patterson and Alex Staton all had run-scoring singles in the inning and the final run of the inning came home on a bases loaded walk to Eric Turner.
• In the seventh, Daniel Shepherd had a RBI single to make it 14-0.

Notes

• Peter Marra had the only hit for the Crusaders. 
• Ian Heisler took the loss. He allowed five runs on nine hits over five innings.
