FREDERICK, Md. - The Hood College baseball team fell to visiting Washington College 9-0 and 5-2 in a non-conference doubleheader. 

Josh Greenberg combined to go 4 for 5 with a pair of walks in the two games. 

WASHINGTON 9, HOOD 0

Inside the Box Score

• Greenberg had a hit and a walk, while Brooks Warrenfeltz and Jordan Patterson also had hits. 
• Nate Luscombe took the loss, allowing six runs, two earned, in five innings. 

How it Happened

• The first five innings were a pitchers' duel between Luscombe and Billy Benson of Washington. The duo cruised through the first five innings with the only blemish being a RBI single by Wes Robertson that gave the Shoremen a 1-0 lead. 
• Two errors in the sixth opened the door for eight runs by Washington to break the game open.

• Billy Benson and Nick Popolizio combined on a three-hit shutout for the Shoremen. 
• Wes Robertson drove in three runs with a single and a pair of walks. 

WASHINGTON 5, HOOD 2 

Inside the Box Score

• Greenberg went 3 for 3 and scored both of the Blazers' runs. 
• Cam Esposito went 2 for 4, while Dylan Johnson had Hood's only extra-base hit of the day, a double. 
• Travis Schweizer was undone by a four-run first inning and took the loss. Andrew Catone, Des Grimes and Connor Henniges combined for four scoreless innings of relief. 

How it Happened

• Aaron Barclay had the big hit of the first with a two-run single that made it 3-0. After they added a fourth run in the first inning, another run came home in the second inning for a 5-0 lead. 
• Greenberg scored during a double play in the third and on a wild pitch in the fourth as the Blazers cut the deficit to 5-2. 

Notes

• Logan Dubbe went five innings and picked up the win. Nick Roberti notched the save with scoreless frames in the sixth and seventh. 
• Joe Otto, Charlie Meder and Gavin O'Donnell had two hits apiece for the Shoremen.
