FREDERICK, Md. - The Hood College volleyball battled the Green Terror past the 25-point mark in two different sets, but McDaniel escaped BB&T Arena with a 3-0 win over the Blazers.

Inside the Box Score

• Elena Zinaich led Hood with eight kills and five blocks. 
• Payton Belella had 20 assists and 16 digs.
• Renee Reus and Kelsey Ritner recorded 14 digs each. 

How it Happened

• McDaniel controlled the first set, but Hood nearly stole each of the next two. 
• The Blazers led the second set 24-21 after a block by Zinaich. The Green Terror rallied and tied and went ahead 26-25 on a kill by Teryn Rath. Zinaich answered with a kill to tie the score before McDaniel took back-to-back points to win the set. 
• Hood built a commanding 16-8 advantage in the third set. The Green Terror responded with a 15-7 run to things up. Facing match point, a kill by Belella tied the score at 24-24. A pair of kills by McDaniel gave the Green Terror the match. 

Notes

• Allie Lugar led all players with nine kills. 
• Taylor Bauman had 26 digs.
