Box Score FREDERICK, Md. - The Hood College men's basketball team held Arcadia scoreless over the final five minutes and 47 seconds and closed with a 17-0 run for the Blazers' eight-straight win to open the season.

How it Happened
- The Blazers trailed by as many as 18 points in the second half and still faced a nine-point deficit after a Steve Pendleton 3-pointer made it 70-61 with 5:47 to play.
- It proved to be the final points that the Knights would score as Hood's defense forced Arcadia to miss its final eight shots to go with four turnovers down the stretch.
- The Blazers' next four points came at the free throw line before Evan Wang stole the ball and went in for a layup that made it 70-67 with 3:03 to go. A free throw one minute later pulled Hood within two.
- Kobe Butler stole the ball on the Knights' next possession and the Blazers turned it into their first lead of the game when Christopher Smalls connected on a 3-point field goal off an assist from Wang at 1:23 for a 71-70 advantage.
- Butler cleared a defensive board at the other end and found Mason Wang for the layup and a three-point edge with 1:07 to go. On Hood's next possession, Smalls grabbed an offensive rebound and kicked it to Evan Wang for a 3-pointer with just 10 seconds left to make it a 76-70 lead.
- In the first half, Arcadia opened the game with a 10-2 run over the first four minutes of action. Hood pulled within 19-17 on a 3-pointer from Riley with 11 minutes left in the half before Da'Kquan Davis knocked down a 3-pointer for Arcadia to start a 22-6 run that made it 41-24 with 2:44 left in the half. The Knights took a 46-31 lead into halftime.

- Hood has led for just 1:31 total over the past two game, erasing double-digit deficits to defeat both Delaware Valley and Arcadia.
- The Blazers went 22-of-28 at the free throw line (79 percent) while the Knights attempted only four foul shots in the contest.
- Hood held a 26-2 advantage in points off turnovers.
- Arcadia shot 16-of-42 (38 percent) from 3-point range. While Hood hit its 3-pointers down the stretch to secure the victory, the Blazers went just 6-of-26 total behind the arc (23 percent).
- Davis led the Knights with 18 points but finished just 6-of-21 from the floor. Pendleton added 15 points and Justin Money had a dozen. Pendleton filled the stat sheet with nine rebounds, five assists and four steals.
