GRANTHAM, Pa. - The Hood College men's basketball team broke out of a recent cold stretch, shooting over 50 percent in a 78-63 victory at Messiah in Middle Atlantic Conference Commonwealth play.

How it Happened
- Messiah trailed by just five, 43-38, after a jumper by Josh Darville with 17:37 to go in the game. Over the next 12 minutes, Hood limited the Falcons to just 5-of-20 shooting, while connecting on 10-of-19 field goals themselves. Mason Wang scored 12 points during the 26-13 run as the Blazers built a 69-49 advantage with 5:40 to play.
- Hood never let the Falcons closer than 15 the rest of the way.
- The Blazers started the game just 3-of-9 shooting and trailed 11-8 after an EJ Porter 3-pointer with 14:15 to go in the first half. Hood went 10-of-15 the rest of the half. A three-point play by Tyler Evans tied the game a minute later to ignite a 15-2 run. Riley scored six of his 12 points during the run that put the Blazers ahead 23-13 with 6:52 remaining in the half.
- With 1:38 left in the first half, a 3-pointer by Colin Sareyka made it 31-28 in favor of Hood before Wang scored eight points in the half's last 83 seconds to give the Blazers a 39-32 halftime lead.
Notes
- Porter went 7-of-17 from behind the 3-point arc to account for all 21 of his points. Sareyka overcame foul trouble to finish with 17 points and nine assists. Nate Eberle had a double-double with 12 points and 13 rebounds.
- Hood committed just 10 turnovers and turned 16 Falcon mistakes into 23 points.
- The Blazers improve to 10-5 overall and 3-3 in the conference, marking the 11th straight year that Hood has posted double-digit victories. Messiah is 8-7 and slid to 1-5 in the MAC Commonwealth.
