OWINGS MILLS, Md. - The Hood College women's basketball lost 85-39 at Stevenson in Middle Atlantic Conference Commonwealth play.

• Morgan Anderson scored a team-high 15 points, including a 5-of-6 night at the free throw line. 

How it Happened

• Anderson got the Blazers on the board first with a layup off an assist from Celestria Hill less than two minutes into the action and was fouled. The sophomore made the free throw for a 3-0 lead. The Mustangs scored the next nine points before a 3-pointer by Lauren Keeney made it 9-6 with 4:42 left in the first quarter and Hood trailed by just 14-10 after an Anderson bucket with 1:13 on the clock. A Kristin Huggins layup and a 3-point shot by Brandi Hall for Stevenson in the last 30 seconds made it 19-10 heading into the second quarter. 
• The late scoring in the first quarter began a 14-0 run that made it 28-10 after Laila Abdul-Rahman scored with 6:48 left in the second. Stevenson closed the half with an 8-2 run that made it 38-16 at halftime. 
• Anderson scored eight points in the third quarter but the Mustangs shot 9-of-16 in the quarter (56 percent) to stretch the lead to 63-31 after three periods of action. 
• Hood struggled with its shooting all evening but went ice cold in the fourth quarter making only a pair of field goals in the final 10 minutes. 

Analysis

• Stevenson's bench outscored Hood's 35-7 in the game. 
• The Mustangs held a 64-42 edge on the glass. 

For the opposition

• Hannah Crist scored a game-high 22 points on 7-of-16 shooting. 
• 16 different players scored for the Mustangs.
