Scouting Hood
- The Blazers enter the tournament with a 16-9 record and a 9-7 mark in the MAC Commonwealth.Â
- Hood qualified for tournament by winning it's final two games of the season, wins over Stevenson (93-73) and top-seeded Widener (92-63).Â
- The Blazers average over four points per game more than any other team in the MAC Commonwealth (82.4).
- Hood leads the conference in free throws made, attempted and percentage (448-585, .766). The Blazers are 10th in Division III in made free throws (406) and are 16th in free throw percentage. Their .766Â free throw percentage would be a new school record.
- Hood leads the MAC Commonwealth in turnover margin (+4.68) and assist/turnover ratio (1.25). The Blazers' turnover margin is 14th in D3.
- Hood is 11th in D3 in 3-point field goals per game (11.3) and 14th in total 3-pointers made with a school-record total of 283.
- Mason Wang set the school record for points in a season on Saturday against Widener and became the first Hood College player to top 600 points in a season.Â
- He is 13th in Division III in points per game (24.4) and 11th in free throws made (153).Â
- Both Mason Wang and Michael Riley scored their 1,000th points this season.Â
- Riley made a school-record 11 3-pointers in a game earlier this year.Â
- Evan Wang has a school-record and MAC Commonwealth leading 133 assists this year.Â
- Both Wang twins rank in the top 10 in the MAC Commonwealth in 3-point field goal percentage (Evan, 3rd, .455; Mason, 6th, .420).
Scouting Lycoming
- Lycoming was one game ahead of Hood in the regular season at 17-8 overall and 10-6 in the MAC Commonwealth.Â
- While Hood is the conference's top offense, Lycoming features the circuit's best defense, allowing 69.4 points per game. The Warriors also top the MAC Commonwealth in defensive field goal percentage (.407) and blocked shots per game (4.32).Â
- Dyson Harward ranks 11th in Division III in blocked shots with 62.Â
- The Warriors won both games against Hood this season, although the games were decided by a total of seven points.Â
- Lycoming's leading scorer, Darius Dangerfield (13.4) points per game had 31 points against Hood in the game in Williamsport (93-87).Â
Hood Playoff History
- This is the Blazers' fourth trip to the MAC Commonwealth tournament since joining the league for the 2012-13 season.Â
- Hood is 1-3 in the MAC Commonwealth Championships with the win coming over Stevenson in the first round in 2014-15.Â
- The Blazers have reached the semifinals in each trip to the playoffs, earning first round byes in 2015 and 2019.Â
