ARLINGTON, Va. - The Hood College women's lacrosse team fell at Marymount (Va.) 17-2 in non-conference action. 

Inside the Box Score

• Julia Aldred and Samy Brandt scored for the Blazers. 
• Tenley Reeder had an assist.

How it Happened

• Sarah Agrillo scored the first goal of the contest with 24:25 left in the first half to give the Saints the early lead. Marymount followed with a run of four goals in the span of one minute and 17 seconds starting with an Emily Peters tally at 19:36 to extend the lead to 5-0. 
• The Saints added seven more goals before halftime for a 12-0 lead. 
• After four more Marymount goals to open the second half, Hood scored two of the contest's final three goals. Aldred intercepted a pass by the Saints' goalie and found an open net in front of her to make it 16-1 with 4:35 to play. Marymount answered with a goal by Liza Ervin with 1:14 remaining. Hood won the game's final draw and Reeder fed Brandt with 10 seconds left for the goal. 

Analysis

• Marymount held a 13-7 advantage in draw controls to limit Hood's possessions, leading to a 33-14 edge in shots. 
• Ground balls were relatively even with the Saints holding a slim 15-13 margin. 

For the Opponent

• Emily Peters scored five goals, assisted on another, and added four ground balls, five draw controls and three caused turnovers. 
• Kaleigh Durham finished with four goals, scoring three straight at one point. 
• Meagan Gagnon had a strong effort in net. In addition to eight saves, she caused three turnovers in the opening 58 minutes. Mariel Russ played the final two minutes for Marymount.
