FREDERICK, Md. - Hood College's
Gavin Combe scored with less than two minutes left in regulation to force overtime, then scored the game-winner to defeat Immaculata 11-10.

How it Happened
- Hood trailed 10-9 when LeBarron caused a turnover with two minutes left and the Blazers took possession quickly transitioned to the offensive end where Upman found Combe open to tie the game at 10-10.
- Gilbert won the faceoff and Hood had three shots down the stretch but were unable to score, sending the game to overtime.
- Immaculata won the faceoff to start overtime and called timeout. Lazorchak turned away a shot by Steve Long but the Mighty Macs retained possession and had another shot deflected by the defense. Hilliard scooped the ground ball and Hurley found Combe at the other end a minute later for the game-winner.
- Immaculata scored the game's first two goals and led 2-0 with 8:18 to go in the first quarter. The Blazers scored the next four goals, however, to take command. LeBarron assisted on a Jaworski goal, then scored himself on an extra-man opportunity with 1:00 on the clock to tie the game heading into the second quarter. Upman then scored twice in the span of 45 seconds in the second period for a 4-2 lead with 10:32 left in the half.
- The Mighty Macs' Bobby Bausman won the faceoff and nine seconds later Long made it 4-3 with an assist from Sean Evans. Upman scored two more goals before halftime but a score tally by David Azzarano between Upman's goals made the score 6-4 at the break.
- The Mighty Macs scored the first three goals of the third quarter to take the lead. Long cut it to 6-5 just 75 seconds into the period, then assisted on a goal by Evans to tie the game at 10:32. Evans scored again with 7:44 remaining in the third period. Upman tied the game just over four minutes but an own goal by Hood with just three seconds left in the period gave Immaculata an 8-7 lead heading to the fourth.
- The Blazers tied the game on a score by Jaworski with an assist from Jay Lanigan with 13:18 left in regulation. Evans scored back-to-back goals for a 10-8 lead with 8:10 to go.
- Hood killed a penalty with five minutes left and then on its next possession, Michael Mullen took an assist from Upman to make it 10-9.
Analysis
- Hood outshot Immaculata 60-34.
- The Blazers did not allow a goal during any of their four man-down situations, while going 3-for-8 on extra man opportunities.
- Hood won 14-of-23 faceoffs in the game.
