LATROBE, Pa. - The Hood College men's lacrosse team dropped a 12-9 final at St. Vincent in non-conference play.
Inside the Box Score
- Bentley LeBarron became the fifth Blazer in program history with 100 career points. He entered the contest needing three points and picked up exactly that many with two goals and an assist.
- Michael Mullen also had two goals and an assist and Gavin Combe scored twice.

How it Happened
- The Blazers came out of the gates fast, scoring five goals in the opening seven minutes and one second. Mullen scored minute exactly into the action. Hood then scored three times in a span of 50 seconds, beginning with a goal by Patrick Hurley with 10:30 to go in the first quarter. Scores by Combe and Kyle Scott made it 4-0 with 9:40 remaining.
- After the lead stretched to five on a goal from LeBarron at 7:59, the Bearcats scored three in a row to fight back into the game. James Carden scored the first two goals, with Tyler Condrasky making it 5-3 with at the 4:30 mark. Hood's Mullen and St. Vincent's Jacob Visalli each scored in the final 52 seconds of the first quarter and the Blazers carried a 6-4 lead into the second.
- The Bearcats tightened on defense over the next three quarters, limiting Hood to just three more goals, one in each quarter.
- A goal by Cody Upman in the second period kept St. Vincent from tying the game and sent Hood into the locker room up 7-6.
- Jordan Billet tied the game with the first goal of the second half for the Bearcats but Combe reclaimed the lead for the Blazers with a score at 9:04 for an 8-7 lead. Neither team scored for nearly six minutes before Matthew Cassidy tied the game at the 3:24 point of the third quarter. Goals from Zach Novelli and Billet in the final 38 seconds of the quarter gave the Bearcats a 10-8 lead heading into the fourth.
- LeBarron picked up his 100th point with a goal with 9:36 left in the game to pull the Blazers within one but Hood's next three possessions each ended in a turnover. St. Vincent turned the last one into a goal by Condrasky with 3:14 to go and Visalli scored a minute later to put the game out of reach.
