FREDERICK, Md. - Five players scored in double figures as the Hood College men's basketball team defeated Messiah 95-72 in Middle Atlantic Conference Commonwealth play.

- Mason Wang scored a game-high 26 points on 10-of-20 shooting, including 5-of-10 behind the 3-point arc. He added at team-high six rebounds.
- Michael Riley and Evan Wang each finished with 14 points. Wang had eight assists in the game against just one turnover.
- Tyler Evans went 4-of-6 shooting and was 2-for-3 from 3-point range on his way to 12 points.
- Keith Claiborne Jr. came off the bench for 11 points to lead a reserve unit that outscored its counterparts 25-2.
How it Happened
- Hood led 21-10 early before Messiah cut it to 29-23 on a bucket by Will Young IV with 7:08 to go in the first half. Mason Wang answered with a 3-pointer 12 seconds later to spark an 11-1 run that pushed the lead to 40-24 after another 3-pointer by Wang with 4:19 left in the half. The Falcons chipped away at the lead from there pulled within 45-35 at halftime.
- Josh Darville twice pulled Messiah within four points in less than a minute, the second of which made it 55-51 with 13:01 to play. Evan Wang scored six points during a 9-2 run that quickly pushed the lead back to double figures, 64-53, with 9:44 remaining.
- The lead fluctuated between seven and 11 points until Hood went on a 14-2 run to finish the game over the final 4:24.

- Darville led the Falcons with 22 points and nine rebounds.
- Young added 18 points.
- Colin Sareyka scored 16 points and dished out eight assists.
- The Blazers shot 53 percent in the second half to finish the game at 48 percent. Hood finished 16-of-38 from 3-point range (42 percent).
- Hood improved to 13-7 on the season and 6-5 in the conference. Messiah sank to 9-12 and 2-10.
- The Blazers are 10-1 at home this season.
