Women’s soccer falters at No. 10 Messiah

GRANTHAM, Pa. - The Hood College women's soccer team traveled to No.10 Messiah for a Middle Atlantic Conference Commonwealth matchup against the Messiah University Falcons that resulted in a 5-0 loss for the Blazers. 

Inside the Box Score  

  • Gabi Dolan (Quarryville, PA/Solanco) registered 11 saves in 90 minutes for the Blazers. 

How it Happened  

  • Messiah's Kenzie Spodnik got the scoring started in the ninth minute to give the Falcons a 1-0 lead. 
  • In the 12th minute, the Falcon's second tally came when Jessie Fisher found Brianna Seip. 
  • The third goal of the game came after Thea Neimond found the back of the net in the 44th minute. 
  • Bella Touzeau and Mallory Johnson capped off the scoring for the Falcons with goals in the second half. 

Analysis  

  • The Falcons had the advantage over the Blazers 8-1 in corner kicks and outshot Hood 30-2. 

For the Opponent  

  • Spodnik, Seip, Neimond, Touzea and Johnson scored one goal each for the Falcons. 
  • Neimond and Lindsay Haseltine added one assist each.
