Johnson's fourth-period goal forces overtime at Eastern


ST. DAVIDS, Pa. - A fourth-period goal by Tanae Johnson pushed the Hood College field hockey team into overtime, but Eastern outlasted the Blazers 2-1 in a Middle Atlantic Conference Commonwealth match.

  • After a scoreless first half, Eastern's Hailey Ferry netted the game's first goal at 35:51 assisted by Sydney Davis to make the score to 1-0 after three. 
  • In the fourth period, the Blazers tied the game when Barnhart got out in transition and centered the ball for Johnson for the game-tying goal at 53:45 to send the match to overtime.
  • In extra time, Harper Sellers crossed the ball to Lily White for the game-winner at 63:52.
