FREDERICK, Md. - Hood College's Tiffany Manning had 24 points and 11 rebounds but the Hood College women's basketball team fell short in Middle Atlantic Conference Commonwealth action against Widener 69-62.

How it Happened
- Widener's Charlotte Stern scored the game's first six points during the first two minutes. Both Stern and the Blazers' Anderson scored eight points in the opening period, but Hood trailed 22-16 at the end the quarter.
- A jumper from Manning started a 7-0 run to keep the Blazers within three points, 24-21, with 8:24 left in the second. The teams traded baskets for much of the period, but the Pride held on to a two-point lead to end the half 34-32.
- The Pride had the largest deficit of the period, 41-32 at 7:17 in the quarter before Hood battled back. With 1:33 remaining in the third quarter, a Manning's 3-pointer tied the score at 48-48. Two free throws from Stern ended the quarter for a 50-48 Widener lead.
- After baskets made by Newson and Jenelle Fields, Hood tied the score 54-54 with 6:08 left to play. Widener reclaimed the lead after Stern's layup led an 11-2 spurt, taking a 67-58 lead with 2:28 left in the game. Made free throws by Mary McFillin down the stretch sealed the win.
