Women's lacrosse drops conference matchup at home

FREDERICK, Md. - The Hood College women's lacrosse team lost its Middle Atlantic Conference Commonwealth matchup at home against No. 7 York College of Pennsylvania with a final score of 19-4.

Inside the Box Score How it Happened
  • The Spartans started off strong, scoring eight goals in the first 16 minutes of play. After three straight fouls from York, a pass from Rebecca Turner allowed for Sokoloff to score with 13:31 on the clock. York answered back with four straight goals, giving them a 12-1 lead with 4:56 left in the half. Lyons scored an unassisted goal with 2:48 on the clock, bringing the score to 12-2 going into halftime.
  • Two back-to-back goals from Riley Roeder increased York's lead to 14-2 with 21:11 left to play. Chloe MacDonald scored another Spartan goal off of a pass from Jenna Cholowinski at 18:29. Skorobatsch scored less than 90 seconds later, narrowing York's lead to 15-3. Connelly then scored off of a free position shot at 13:45. York scored off of two back-to-back free position shots, extending their lead to 17-4 with six minutes left to play. Two more Spartan goals solidified the victory for York, making the final score 19-4.
