MADISON, N.J. - The Hood College men's lacrosse team had an impressive offensive performance, defeating the Devils of FDU-Florham by a final score of 14-5.

Inside the Box Score

• Bentley LeBarron and Colby Gallagher led the scoring for the Blazers, recording three goals apiece. LeBarron also added two assists, two ground balls and one caused turnover.
• Michael Mullen and Cody Upman scored two goals each. Mullen added an assist and two caused turnovers while Upman recorded one ground ball and two caused turnovers.
• Bailey Meehan had four caused turnovers on the afternoon.
• Garrett Hitchens won 8-of-16 faceoff attempts while Shawn Wise won 5-of-6. 
• Trenton Lazorchak made 20 saves in goal.

How it Happened

• LeBarron assisted both goals scored in the first quarter. He fed Upman at 11:08 and assisted Mullen at 1:39 for 2-0 lead at the end of period. Upman scored again off of an assist from Will Sweeney less than 50 seconds into the second quarter. A LeBarron goal at 4:12 was quickly followed by another Blazer goal scored by Aden Sievert, giving Hood a 5-0 lead going into halftime.
• Hood's defense stifled FDU, holding them scoreless for the first 34:26 of action, before the Devils scored their first two goals in the third quarter, cutting the deficit to three. Hood then scored two quick goals, leading FDU 7-2 with 9:51 left in the quarter. A Blazer goal by Adam Weintraub at 4:58 was quickly followed by a goal from Zane Johnston less than 30 seconds later, bringing the score to 8-3. LeBarron scored the final goal of the third quarter, extending the Blazers' lead to 9-3.
• Hood scored three goals in a row to start the fourth quarter, leading the Devils 12-3 with 13:10 left to play. The Devils scored on an extra-man opportunity at 4:23, but Gallagher quickly answered back with two more goals, granting Hood a 14-4 lead. Tyler Garcia scored the final goal for the Devils at 1:12, capping the scoring in the 14-5 win for the Blazers. 

For the Opposition

• Garcia and Drew Bukowiec scored two goals each. Garcia added one ground ball and two caused turnovers.
• MacGyver Hay recorded six caused turnovers and one ground ball.
• Dan Schlupp stopped seven in goal while Austin Van Holten made six saves.

• Hood improves to 2-2 on the year. 
• FDU-Florham sank to 1-6.
