FREDERICK, Md. - The Hood College women's volleyball team fell in straight sets to visiting Notre Dame (Md.) in non-conference action.

- Jada Stewart got Notre Dame back on track with a service ace to start a 7-0 surge to put Hood behind 18-10.
- The Blazers went on a 12-5 run that featured three kills and an ace from Ambruster to make it 23-22. A block by Gabbi Taganas and Anna Gamble halted Hood's momentum and the teams traded errors, allowing the Gators to go ahead 1-0.
Set 2: Notre Dame (Md.) 25, Hood 22
- After a kill by Ray tied the set for the seventh time to make it 19-19, a bad set gave Hood a 20-19 lead.
- The Blazers went cold with four errors and two kills over the remainder of the set as Notre Dame used a kill by Stewart to close it out for a 2-0 lead.
Set 3: Notre Dame (Md.) 25, Hood 23
- The two teams traded runs to start the third set. Two kills by Elizondo and one by Ray put the Blazers on top 3-0, before the Gators scored the next five points.
- Hood reeled off the next six points behind the service of Elizondo, who posted two aces as the Blazers went ahead 9-5.
- There were five ties throughout the middle of the set before Hood used back-to-back kills, one each by Ambruster and Elizondo, to make it 22-18.
- Ciarra Bockstie had a kill and back-to-back blocks to swing the momentum back to the Gators, who finished out the match with a 7-1 run.

- Hood had 36 kills, compared to 27 for Notre Dame (Md.).
- The Gators were slightly more efficient, holding a .073-to-.072 edge in hitting.
