WESTMINSTER, Md. - The Hood College women's volleyball team fell in both ends of a tri-match at McDaniel to the Green Terror and Misericordia 3-0 and 3-1, respectively. 

Set Scores

• McDaniel defeated the Blazers 25-20, 28-26, 25-16. 
• The Cougars bested Hood 18-25, 25-23, 25-23, 25-15. 

Inside the Box Scores

• Caitlin Ambruster had 11 kills in both matches to finish with a team-high 22 for the day. She also had 29 total digs. 
• Jackie Malitzki had 52 total assists. 
• MacKenzi Wright led the Blazers against Misericordia with 12 kills against just one error, hitting .393 in the match. Samantha Baker had 18 digs against Misericordia. 

McDaniel 3, Hood 0

• After the Green Terror took the first set 25-20, it appeared they would take the second set when a block by Angalyn Strouse and Nia Roberts gave McDaniel a 24-21 lead. 
• Hood ripped off four straight points, including kills by Ambruster and Shane Simms to go ahead 25-24. McDaniel scored twice to make it 26-25 but the Blazers once again tied the score, this time via an attack error by the Green Terror. 
• A service error and a kill by Anna Jezerski, however, gave McDaniel the 28-26 win. 
• The momentum carried over to the third set, where the Green Terror hit .395 (17-2-38) to seal the victory. 
• Jezerski had 14 kills for McDaniel to lead all players and Brenna Campbell dished out 30 assists.

Misericordia 3, Hood 1

• Hood came out on fire to take a 9-3 lead in the first set. Malitzki opened the match with back-to-back aces. Kills by Wright accounted for four of the Blazers' other six points in the run. 
• The Cougars eventually pulled within 15-12 on a kill by Fiona Pyfer. Kills by Ambruster and Emma Elizondo bookended a pair of Misericordia errors as Hood stretched the lead back to 19-12. The Cougars never pulled closer than four the rest of the way as Hood took a 1-0 lead. 
• The Blazers led 23-21 in the second set before two Katie Kraeker kills fueled a four-point run to take the set and even the match. 
• With Hood on top 21-20 in the third set, Pyfer and Kraeker combined for four kills down the stretch for Misericordia's second straight 25-23 win and a 2-1 lead. 
• In the fourth set, Hood went cold with five kills and seven errors in the set, while the Cougars found their stride, hitting .333 to take the set and the match 25-15. 
• Pyfer had 19 kills and hit .405 for the match. She also had 14 digs. Annika Massa had 49 assists.

Notes

• Hood falls to 2-6 on the season. 
• Misericordia is 4-8 and McDaniel moved to 4-5.
