Field hockey comes up short against Widener


FREDERICK, Md - The Hood College field hockey team dropped its first home Middle Atlantic Conference Commonwealth game to Widener University 4-0. 

Inside the Box Score How it Happened
  • In the first period, the Pride would add a goal by Jess Alba at 6:58 unassisted to bring the score to 1-0.
  • The scoring would continue in the first period when Widener's Makenzie Adamson netted a goal at 10:05, assisted by Madi Radnoff to end the first period at 2-0. 
  • The Blazers recorded a defensive save by Armstrong at 25:26 in the second period, but soon after the Pride's Alba scored at 25:32. 
  • Widener scored late in the second period coming from Juliana Sanchez at 27:26, assisted by Alba to bring the halftime score to 4-0.
  • Both defenses stepped up during a scoreless third period.
