ST. DAVIDS, Pa. - The Hood College women's volleyball team fell at Eastern 3-0 in a Middle Atlantic Conference Commonwealth match.

- Kills by Barger, Emma Elizondo and Shane Simms allowed the Blazers to open the match with a quick 3-1 lead.
- Hood fell behind 7-5 before two kills from Ray helped the Blazers go up 8-7.
- After the Eagles tied the score, Elizondo added a kill for a 9-8 lead. An attack error by Hood tied the set and a kill from Logan Martin put Eastern back in front.

- Eastern jumped ahead 5-1 before the Blazers took advantage of four errors to tie the set at 6-6.
- After Eastern scored the next four points, Hood closed the deficit to 12-10 before a 6-2 run gave the Eagles some breathing room.
- Three straight errors by Eastern, followed an ace by Malitzki and a kill by Ambruster brought Hood back within 18-17.
- The Blazers later trailed 23-19 but a kill by Ray, an ace by Simms and an error made it a one-point margin. After a Hood error set up match point, Grace Will had a kill to secure the win.
Analysis
- Eastern committed just 10 attack errors the entire evening to finish with a .366 hitting percentage, compared to .052 for Hood.
- The Eagles' service game held an 8-4 advantage in aces over the Blazers.
For the Opponent
- Martin had a match-high 12 kills.
- Elle Jiron-Bujanda dished out 30 assists.
- Kelsey Bradshaw had four service aces, while Will added 13 digs.
Notes
- Hood slipped to 2-8 overall and 0-3 in the MAC Commonwealth.
- Eastern, who is receiving votes in the American Volleyball Coaches Association rankings, jumped to 16-1 and 3-0.
