FREDERICK, Md. - The Hood College men's swimming team opened the 2022-23 season with a tri-meet against Goucher College and Middle Atlantic Conference opponent Stevenson University that resulted in two wins for the Blazers.

Top Finishes
- Hazen Stowell (West Jordan, UT/Riverton) earned two first-place finishes for the Blazers. One in the 200-yard free in 1:50.10 and the other in the 500-yard free in 5:09.79.
- Storm Fuller (Edgewood, MD/Edgewood) also added two first-place finishes in the 50-yard free in 23.60 and the 100-yard free in 52.47.
- Ike Brittingham (Lewes, Del/Sussex Central) placed first in the 100-yard breaststroke in 1:02.60 and second in the 50-yard free in 28.37.
- Ethan Hubble (Middletown, MD/Middletown) swam a 56.93 in the 100-yard fly for a first-place finish and a 1:55.35 for third in the 200-yard free.
- Patrick Krol (Ellicott City, MD/Homeschool) earned first in the 100-yard back in 1:00.13 and second in the 200-yard IM with a time of 2:10.68.
- Andrew Bezmen (Sumy, Ukraine/UWC-USA) earned second place in the 100-yard breast in 1:06.38.
- Chris Krol (Ellicott City, MD/Homeschooled) scored points for the Blazers with a third-place finish swimming the 200-yard IM in 2:189.28.
- Hank Machen (Knoxville, MD/Brunswick) swam a 12:05.82 in the 1000-yard free for a third-place finish.
- The 200-yard medley relay team of Fuller, Bezmen, Brittingham and Hubble earned a first place finish in 1:44.05.
- The 200-yard freestyle relay team of Patrick Krol (Ellicott City, MD/Homeschool), Ian Edler Machen and Stowell earned finished first in 1:36.42.

- The Blazers improve to 2-0 (1-0) on the season.
