SALISBURY, Md. - The Hood College baseball team dropped the finale of a three-game weekend series to 13th-ranked Salisbury University 6-2.
At the Plate
- James DeProspero reached base all four times going 3-for-3 with an RBI and a walk. He also had two stolen bases to lead the Blazers.
- AJ Haines finished the game with two stolen bases and scored a run for the Blazers.
- Matthew Stout recorded a double and scored a run on the afternoon.
On the Mound
- Frank Spaide started the game for the Blazers, allowing three runs on five hits in four innings of work. In the loss, he struck out two and walked one.
- Joe Monteleone let up a run on two hits in the fifth inning.
- Cole Whitton allowed a run on a hit in 1.1 innings.
- Jacob Cutter recorded a strikeout in 0.2 innings.
- Trey Baker pitched the eighth inning and let up one run on two hits.
Salisbury 6, Hood 2
- Salisbury jumped ahead in the second inning. With the bases-loaded and two outs, Zach Geesaman scored on an error by Dylan Onorevole at first base for a 1-0 lead.
- After back-to-back singles by Kavi Caster and Stephen Rice, Sky Rahill knocked in Caster on a sacrifice fly to center field. This increased the lead for Salisbury to 2-0 after three innings.
- Salisbury's first two batters in the fourth inning reached again on singles. After a wild pitch by Spaide to move the runners into scoring position, Dom Frigiola grounded out to Haines to bring in Luke Weddell from third. Spaide managed to end the threat, but Salisbury's lead grew to 3-0.
- The Sea Gulls used singles to keep pressure on the Blazers pitching staff all game. Rahill and Geesaman singled in the fifth inning, and Ethan Wentzlaff scored Rahill on Salisbury's second sacrifice fly of the game. The Sea Gulls lead was lifted again by one run to 4-0.
- The Blazers struggled to get any sort of pressure on Salisbury pitcher Xavier Marmol. In the seventh inning in a third and first situation, DeProspero and Haines executed a double steal of second and home to get Hood on the board, still trailing 4-1.
- Salisbury answered right back in the bottom half of the seventh inning after a Rice hit-by-pitch and back-to-back walks by Geesaman and Wentzlaff. Cutter threw a wild pitch and the Sea Gulls were back up by four runs.
- In the eighth inning, Hyder led off with a single, advanced to second on a wild pitch, then stole third. He then scored on an RBI groundout by Frigiola to extend the lead to 6-1.
- Stout led off the ninth inning with a double and scored the final run of the game on a DeProspero single up the middle.
For the Opponent
- Hyder, Caster and Weddell led Salisbury with two hits apiece. They also all scored once in the game.
- Frigiola finished the game with two RBIs.
- Rahill and Wentzlaff each recorded an RBI.
- Xavier Marmol pitched a complete game for Salisbury, allowing two runs on five hits. He also recorded eight strikeouts and walked two.

- Hood falls to 7-15 on the year.
- Salisbury improved to 16-7.
