Jocelyn Pfleiger set the Blazers' single-season home run record and
Cailyn Barthlow collected her 100th career hit in a doubleheader split at Elizabethtown. Hood took game one 3-2 before the Blue Jays captured the second game 10-7.
At the Plate
- Pfleiger's record-setting ninth homer accounted for all the Blazers' scoring in game one, breaking a scoreless tie in the top of the seventh. The first-year student finished the day 3-for-6 with her home run, a double, two walks and four RBIs.
- Barthlow became the 11th Hood player to reach 100 hits with a double in her first at-bat of game two. She scored four times in the doubleheader, including three times in the nightcap. The senior was 3-for-7 with a walk.
Inside the Circle
- Rebecca Gottleib picked up the win in game one with a complete game. She allowed two runs, scattering seven hits and a walk. The first-year student struck out two.
- Rachel Benden took the loss in game two. She pitched the first 3.2 innings and was charged with 10 runs, including six earned. The junior surrendered seven hits and walked four.
- Jordan Long came on in relief of Benden. Long tossed 2.1 scoreless innings, allowing just a hit and two walks.
Hood 3, Elizabethtown 2
- Gottleib allowed just two runners into scoring position over the first six innings, limiting the Blue Jays to four hits and a walk before the seventh inning.
- Elizabethtown's Paige Phillips pitched around Hood base runners in all but one inning over the first six before running into trouble one too many times in the seventh.
- Alyssa Walters walked with one out and moved to second on an infield single by Barthlow. Pfleiger followed with a three-run blast to left field for the first runs of the game. Benden walked but Phillips forced a pop up and a fly ball to end the threat with Hood leading 3-0.
- Phillips led off the bottom of the seventh with a single and was lifted for a pinch runner. Cassidy Dodds was called on to pinch hit and doubled down the line in right ot put runners on the corners. Kristen Aydelotte sent a double into the gap in left center to score both runners, cutting Hood's lead to one with no outs. Gottleib buckled down and forced a comebacker for the first out. She stuck out the next batter before a pop foul ended the game.
Elizabethtown 10, Hood 7
- Both teams scored multiple runs in the first inning of the second game.
- Barthlow doubled to left with one out in the first to reach the century mark and scored on an RBI single by Pfleiger for the game's first run. Pfleiger stole third before Benden knocked her in with a base hit through the left side of the infield for a 2-0 lead. After Gottleib doubled to put runners on second and third, Mallorie Hetzel drove in the Blazers' third run with a ground out to third.
- The lead did not last long, however, as the Blue Jays scored four times in the bottom half of the inning. Aydelotte led off the inning with a home run to left. Two walks and a single loaded the bases for Elizabethtown and Dodds drove all three runners in with an RBI triple down the line in left for a 4-3 lead.
- Hood reclaimed the lead with three more runs in the third inning. Barthlow walked and later scored on a single by Hetzel to tie the game. Sammy McIntosh doubled over the center fielder's head with two outs, scoring Benden and Hetzel to give the Blazers a 6-4 lead.
- The Blue Jays scored six times in the fourth and never trailed again. Elizabethtown had already tied the game before a two-out error with the bases loaded by Hood opened the door even further for the Blue Jays. Two runs scored on the play and Grace Hussey followed with a two-run single for a 10-6 lead. After a hit by pitch, Long entered to pitch and, after a walk, forced a fly ball to left to end the inning.
- Neither team scored again until Hood rallied in the seventh, bringing the tying run to the plate. Barthlow led off the inning with a single and moved to third on a double by Pfleiger. Benden drove in a run to cut the deficit to three with a groundout to second. Gottleib walked and took second unchallenged with one out. Harley Rife induced a ground ball and a fly out to end the game without further damage.
For the Opponent
- Aydelotte had three hits, two runs, two walks, a home run and three RBIs for the Blue Jays.
- Dodds went 2-for-3 with a walk and three RBIs in game two after her pinch double in the opener.
- Phillips took the loss in game one. She went the distance but walked seven and allowed five hits, while striking out seven.
- Cierra Kunkle started the second game but was pulled after recording just one out. She allowed three runs on four hits. Rife pitched the final 6.2 innings to improve to 2-1. She was charged with four runs on seven hits and two walks.

- Hood is 13-14-1 on the year, while the Blue Jays are 11-17.
