FREDERICK, Md. - The Hood College women's lacrosse team fell victim to a 5-1 third quarter run by Widener and fell 13-7 in a Middle Atlantic Conference Commonwealth contest.

How it Happened
- The Pride took a commanding early lead with a four-goal run started by Amber Bretz in the first 12 minutes and 50 seconds of action. Bretz found her second of the game over a minute later. Back-to-back goals came from Katie Ward to cap off the run with 2:50 left in the first quarter.
- With 57 seconds remaining in the first, a free position goal by Burnette put the Blazers on the scoreboard to head into the second quarter 4-1.
- Another Burnette goal came at the 11:53 mark in the second quarter to make the score 4-2.
- Hood's Wright was able to cut the Widener lead 4-3 off a man-up opportunity with 10:27 remaining in the second.
- After a goal by the Pride's Gab Cohen at the 7:30 mark, Hood's Kayla Russell found the back of the net just over a minute later to make the score 5-4.
- Widener's Bretz was able to push Widener ahead 6-4 but another goal by Wright cut the lead back to one. The Blazers trailed 6-5 at halftime.
