SALISBURY, Md. - Hood College's
Tay Zechman (Lebanon, PA/Lebanon) broke the school record in the javelin for the third time this season to lead the women's track and field team at the Eastern Shore Challenge.
Record Breaker
- Zechman, who also won the event, broke her own record with a throw of 34.55 meters (113-4). She beat the nearest mark by over 30 feet. Zechman also placed seventh in the hammer throw with a mark of 33.92 meters (111-3).
Highlights
- Gloria Castillo (Puerto Cortes, Honduras/Meade (MD.)) placed fifth in the long jump with a mark of 4.61 meters (15-1).
- Shania Mason (San Antonio, TX/William J. Brennan) ran in the 200-meter dash with a time of 27.84 seconds, placing fifth. She also ran a time of 1:06.41 in the 400 meter dash, placing sixth.
- Jordan Nicolas (Baltimore, MD/Park School of Baltimore) ran a career best with a time of 13.54 seconds in the 100-meter dash, placing fourth.
Team Standings
- Hood finished sixth with 38 points.
- Christopher Newport placed first with 200 points.
