HARRISONBURG, Va. – A goal by
Anthony Polio (Germantown, MD/Northwest) in the 82nd minute and a career day for
Nick Humphries (Potomac, MD/Potomac) lifted the Hood College men's soccer team to a 1-0 victory over Eastern Mennonite in the Blazers' season opener.

- In the back-and-forth first half, Polio had the best chance to score for the Blazers but his shot was saved by Arledge.
- Humphries made game-changing saves in the goal Blazers denying the Royals of five point-blank shots throughout the game. Four of his six saves happened in a ten-minute span in the second half.
- Keville had a final opportunity to take the 2-0 lead in the 87th minute but his shot went wide right.
