FREDERICK, Md. - The Hood College women's volleyball team hit a season-high .278 and served 19 aces during a 3-1 win over Mary Baldwin University.

- Caitlin Ambruster (Fleetwood, PA/Brandywine Heights) and Ann Ofoegbu (Falling Waters, WV/Spring Mills) combined for 27 kills and just two errors to lead the Blazers.
- Ofoegbu hit a blistering .733 on 15 attempts with 12 kills. The percentage is the second highest in a single match in program history, trailing only Lindsey Nagy's .800 from 2005.

Hood 25, Mary Baldwin 9
- Strong service by Malitzki to start the match resulted in four straight attack errors for the Flying Squirrels and the Blazers stretched the lead to 9-0 before Mary Baldwin got on the board.
- Hood continued to stretch its lead and a late streak of five straight points, including two aces by Alyssa Watts (Taneytown, MD/Francis Scott Key), made it 24-8.
- While the Blazers had just seven kills in the set, they only committed one error, hitting .333 in 18 attempts.
Mary Baldwin 25, Hood 23
- The Fighting Squirrels trailed 23-19 after a block by Simms, but came back to take the set, scoring the final six points.
- Hood had carried its momentum over for the first set with a 7-1 run to begin set two, fueled by two more aces from Malitzki.
Hood 25, Mary Baldwin 13
- The Blazers fell behind 4-1 but an 11-4 surge, aided by three kills from Ambruster, gave Hood a 12-5 lead.
- A 7-0 run by Hood later in the set made it 20-8 and Malitzki served up three straight aces to end the set.
Hood 25, Mary Baldwin 14
- Three kills by Ambruster fueled an 8-1 run that turned a 6-5 lead into 14-6 for the Blazers.
- After the Fighting Squirrels pulled within 18-13, a 7-1 run ended the match. Ofoegbu turned in the final three kills of the match to seal the win.
- Behind Ofoegbu's and Ambruster's near perfect hitting, the Blazers finished the set 14-1-28 (.464).

- Rachel Christian had 13 kills to lead Mary Baldwin.
- Emily Penny had 12 assists.
