The Blazers gained an early lead over the Spartans in the 12th minute after a strike from
Priya Nair (Falls Church, Va./George C. Marshall) parried off a York defender and went into the back of the net. The Spartans responded with a goal of their own in the 19th minute with a shot from Meg Kalthof. Preceding the end of the first half, York scored a second time with a goal by Olivia Dingman.
Despite some offensive chances for Hood, the Blazers could not find an equalizer in the second half of the match.
