FREDERICK, Md. - The Hood College field hockey team had no answer to No. 5 Messiah University's offensive outburst as the Blazers fell 9-0 in the Middle Atlantic Conference Commonwealth's penultimate game of the season.Â

Richana Brown (Dover, Del./Dover) made 13 saves in 45 minutes of play before being subbed out for
Kindal Davis (Suffolk, Va./Lakeland), who turned away one shot in the final 15 minutes of action.Â
Madeline Moreno (Mansfield, N.J./Warren Hills Regional) had four defensive saves on the night.Â
How it HappenedÂ
The Falcons struck first when Teagan Murrie scored four minutes into the first quarter, but a flurry of saves from Brown kept the deficit to just one heading into the second.Â
Messiah would double their lead when Carrie Bair got a shot past Brown, then 3-0 after Leah Bryner picked up her own rebound and put it in the back of the net.Â
Aubrey Clark opened the second half strong for the Falcons, scoring just 16 seconds into the third. Madi Johnson and Lindsay McFeaters would each score in the next six minutes before Clark added another goal of her own to make it 7-0. Bryner would get her second of the night with eight seconds left in the quarter to give the Falcons an eight-goal lead.Â
Less than three minutes into the fourth, Bair would get her second of the night and cap off the scoring for Messiah.Â
For the OpponentÂ
Nicole Shank, Megan North, and Audrey Weger all picked up assists in the game, while McFeaters added an assist to go with her goal.Â
Jaden Keister went untested for the Falcons in the first half before being replaced by Catie Brubaker, who also did not face a shot.Â
