Win streak snapped by Pride

FREDERICK, Md. - The Hood College field hockey team saw its nine-match win streak come to a close with a 2-0 loss to visiting Widener in Middle Atlantic Conference Commonwealth play.

Richana Brown (Dover, Del./Dover) made eight saves. 

How it Happened
After a scoreless first period, Widener controlled the action in the second. The Blazers defense held until the Pride's ninth corner of the half, with 30 seconds left. Maddie Hoyer's first shot was turned away by Brown, but Hoyer cleaned up the rebound for a 1-0 lead. .

Hoyer assisted on Widener's third quarter goal. Off a corner, she sent the ball to the far post where Emma Lavin was waiting to make it 2-0. 

Analysis
Hood was outshot 19-1 and the Pride held a 17-1 edge in corners. 

Notes
The Blazers slipped to 9-3 overall and 0-1 in the MAC Commonwealth.
