Field hockey shut out by No. 6 York

YORK, Pa. - The Hood College field hockey team could not withstand the flurry of shots from No. 6 York College, as the Blazers fell 4-0 in Middle Atlantic Conference Commonwealth action. 

Inside the Box Score 
Richana Brown (Dover, Del./Dover) made 14 saves in the loss. 

How it Happened 
After a tightly contested first half, Kelsey Welsh managed to get a shot past Brown to open the scoring for York with less than three minutes to play before halftime. 

In the third quarter, Sara Pique scored off a penalty corner to double the Spartans' lead. 

With less than three minutes in the game, Welsh added an extra insurance goal with her second of the game before Katie Martino added an extra tally from a penalty corner at the end of regulation. 

For the Opponent 
Libby Wild and Anna Simoes finished the night with assists, while Pique had an assist on top of her goal. 

Notes 
Hood falls to 9-4 overall, 0-2 in conference, while York improves to 10-2 overall, 2-0 in conference.
