FREDERICK, Md. - The Hood College women's volleyball team could not figure out Stevenson, as the Mustangs swept the Blazers in three straight sets.
Set Scores
The Mustangs won 25-15, 25-21, 25-15.
Inside the Box Score
Ann Ofoegbu (Falling Waters, W.Va./Spring Mills) ended the night with 12 kills and nine digs.
Jackie Malitzki (Allentown, Pa./Parkland) finished the match with 12 assists.
How it Happened
After the Blazers started the first set off 3-0, the Mustangs scored seven straight points to take a strong lead. Despite several kills from Ofoegbu making it an 11-8 game, Stevenson used their ensuing 8-4 run to retain control and take the set.
Both teams spent the beginning of the second set exchanging points, but an ace from Burge gave the Blazers a 13-12 lead. They would only have the lead once after that, as Stevenson never let Hood keep any momentum while they finished the set.
Stevenson jumped out to a 10-3 lead in the third set and did not give Hood any chances to get back into the game as they completed the sweep.
For the Opponent
Rileigh Kimball led the Mustangs with 11 kills.
Makala Thompson had 20 assists on the night.
